Coronary Angioplasty, also known as Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), is a minimally invasive procedure used to open narrowed or blocked coronary arteries, restoring proper blood flow to the heart. A catheter with a small balloon is inserted into the artery and inflated at the blockage site. Often, a stent (a small mesh tube) is placed to keep the artery open. It is commonly performed on patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), angina, or heart attacks. The procedure reduces chest pain, improves heart function, and lowers the risk of heart attacks.
